“Boromir!” The relief in Tirion’s voice was unmistakable. He was bare-chested having taken off his tunic and stood in his riding breeches.

“Unfortunately, dear brother, I can grant only half your wish, namely my presence. Tirion, stop showing off, and put your tunic back on,” Boromir said grinning wickedly at the sight of his brother who gaped at him angrily.

“I knew you weren’t drunk,” Faramir muttered.

“Well, not very,” Boromir confessed, “Come along now children,” he said laughing, “Not only have we the captain but also three of his lieutenants. Oh what fun this is turning out to be.”

An extremely indignant Faramir watched as his three lieutenants were marched off by Boromir’s men to another tent. Faramir was then ‘escorted’ by Boromir and Tirion to Boromir’s tent after his hands were tied behind his back again. Boromir’s tent was right next to Tirion’s but he still took a round of the camp first to show his men that they still had their ‘prisoner’.

“And now, Captain,” Boromir said silkily, when they were inside his tent, taking Faramir’s chin in his hands and turning his face towards him, “Let’s discuss this tiny matter of reckless behaviour and disrespect to a fellow officer.”

Tirion wished he could be in Boromir’s place holding that perfect chin in his hand. Then he would pull Faramir’s face closer and cover those beautifully lips with his own...

“Reckless behaviour!” Faramir’s outburst interrupted his thoughts, “what reckless behaviour?”

“You barged out into the clearing earlier in an extremely reckless fashion,” Boromir told him, and let go of his chin, “you should have checked first to see if I was alone or not.”

Faramir paled at that and lapsed into silence.

“You cannot repeat such an error again so you must be punished. And then there is this business of trying to put poor Tirion through such humiliation,” he added glancing at Tirion with a smirk.

Tirion shrugged.

“Well, what do you have to say, Captain Faramir?” Boromir demanded putting on his best captain general voice, not loud but definitely full of impact.

It certainly affected Faramir who bit his lip and then finally said, “I accept whatever punishment you deem fit.”

“What do you think Tirion, what punishment should I mete out?” Boromir asked his eyes twinkling, the high spirits caused by the liquor he’d consumed coming to the fore.

“I don’t know,” Tirion replied, “Perhaps he could polish your armour?”

“I have a squire for that,” Boromir said, and then smiled again, “Aha, I know! You have behaved childishly, Faramir and so you’ll be punished as a child would. You’ll be spanked!”

“What?” Faramir gasped, “Boromir, are you crazy?”

“Disrespect to the captain general,” Tirion muttered and Boromir flashed a huge grin at him.

“He’s right,” he told Faramir, who was looking around wildly for some means of escape, “Don’t try to worsen your punishment! Come now, let’s get it over with. I’ll help you get those breeches off.”
