links et al[edit]
- I still can't figure out how to add things to the Chapter list, and giving the numbers and names doesn't do much good. Oh well.
No worries about the chapter list; I've just done that.
Some pointers on creating links:
Internal links (i.e. to another page on this wiki) are made by putting the page's title in double square brackets - or use the third toolbar button. You can change the displayed text by adding whatever you want it to read after a |
So for example [[No one to the rescue…but Denethor finds Faramir after Marek’s through with him|Chapter 12: A New Day]] results in this: Chapter 12: A New Day
(Though of course, visitors to your user page can also -just like on any of the user pages- find your chapters in the 'What links here' list. In your case, that's here.)
External links (i.e. to anything not starting with wiki.faramirfiction.com) are made by putting the url in single square brackets, or by using the fourth button. Since an url, unlike a wiki title, will never have a space in it, you don't have to use a | to separate where-you-want-to-link-to and what-you-want-to-show-up-on-the-page, just a space will do:
[http://www.livejournal.com/users/bell_witch My LiveJournal] shows up as My LiveJournal
See also Wiki Basics or Wiki markup, and you can always click on 'Edit' on any page to take a peek at (or copy to later paste) the code - as long as you don't hit 'Save page' it doens't hurt to look.
Also please use the code for the options at the end of the chapter as provided on Editing Help or Entering chapters (with horizontal rule and bullets) so there's some uniformity in how chapters look. Thanks!
