You had category misspelled at first, so those links didn't work. Normally you can move pages, but since category pages are different from regulare pages (which your catagory:pages were), I had to delete them. Copied their contents to new pages.

Maybe something like what i've done at Category:Damrod is worth while to include on all pages?

PS- Forgot to mention: put 'browse characters' and 'browse locations' links in the menu.

I'm still having to keep correcting myself... Still I'm sure I'll have learnt how to spell category once I'm done. ;)

The Damrod thing looks good, I do also want to do the information bit, but I think first I'll concentrate on getting all the chapters listed... That is the main point of this after all.

Are we agreed that characters mentioned but not actively involved in a chapter shouldn't be listed?

Also location seems difficult... I think we should have one even if one isn't mentioned because it's easy to tell where they are from past chapters, although there may be inconsistancies... E.g. the third chapter says they're in Ithilien when the previous ones are in Henneth Annun... Middle earth geography isn't my strong point...

Later on maybe we should categorize them further into Gondor, Rohan etc.

PS - A couple of the links on the The man is Imrahil, whom Faramir has not met since childhood. are still red and I can't work out why.

Nods.
The 'include this code' block uses Template:Addtocategory, so you can add that to any category and the code will change automatically.

Yeah, I think otherwise you might as well use the search.

Well, Henneth Annûn is in Ithilien, so that's not an inconsistancy. Like saying you're in Minas Tirith and in Gondor is not a contradictory statement, or in London and in the UK for that matter.

You can always just focus on characters for now. Chances are, characters and locations will overlap for a large part anyway (e.g. 'Elrond' chapters will largely be 'Rivendell' chapters as well), so (1) the additional functionality is debatable, and (2) if we should want an locations index, it'll be easier to do once there is a characters index.

Yes, this is a know issue with categories. If you add a category to a page that does not yet exist (or is still empty), it turns up red. This is normal. But the problem is that is doesn't turn blue as soon as the category is edited; it only turns blue as soon as the page with the category link is edited again. Basically, the system checks if the category exists each time the page is saved, not each time the page is viewed.
So: create categories first, then add them to chapters.
